Congress questions Govt on Chinese intrusion in Arunachal Pradesh

The opposition Congress Party on Thursday questioned the Narendra Modi government over the recent Chinese intrusions in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

In a press conference, Tom Vadakkan, Spokesperson of the Congress party, claimed that over 1.3 km long road was already built by China inside Arunachal Pradesh.

Mr Vadakkan asked what the Modi government and the Union Home Ministry were doing when the Chinese repeatedly intruded into Indian territory.

He alleged “complete failure of intelligence” by Narendra Modi government.

On 26 December 2017, India discovered that China was trying to construct a road along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. China has agreed to stop the road construction activity after a Border Personnel Meeting between Chinese and Indian troops took place on 6 January 2018.

Chief of Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat confirmed on 8 January in New Delhi that the incident has been resolved after a border personal meeting.
