At least five terrorists were killed by Security forces after the Indian Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

The terrorists were killed in the encounter with the Indian security forces while they were trying to infiltrate into India at Keran sector in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, 94 km from state capital Srinagar.
According to initial reports, the encounter between the security forces and terrorists is still underway.
Two days before, two Army jawans were injured in terrorists attack while on a patrolling party near LoC, on the day when Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on his two-day visit to review the security situation on the LOC. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh also accompanied him.
Earlier, on 5 June, Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a press conference on Indo-Pak relation in New Delhi a day after a sector commanders level flag meeting was held in Suchetgarh between the BSF and Pakistan Rangers to enforce the 2003 ceasefire along the Line of Control.
Recently, official reports have confirmed the spike in ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the International Border and LoC.
