In a shocking incident, a minor girl belonging to Dalit community was allegedly torched after she resisted rape at Sustani village in Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh.
The victim told news agency ANI, “He threw kerosene on me and then lit fire” for resisting rape.

Zee News reported that the accused tried to rape the 13-year-old minor girl while she was alone at home. When she protested and cried for help, the accused threw kerosene on her and then set her on fire. The incident reportedly took place on Friday.
The victim was admitted in the district hospital on Saturday night, where the doctors said 50 percent of her body sustained burn injuries.
The police have registered a case and trying to nab the accused.
Madhya Pradesh is infamous for rape. The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) in its Crime in India-2015 report stated, “12.7% (4,391 out of 34,651 cases) of rape cases were reported in Madhya Prades followed by Maharashtra (4,144 cases), Rajasthan (3,644 cases), Uttar Pradesh (3,025 cases) and Odisha (2,251 cases) accounting for 11.9%, 10.5%, 8.7% and 6.5% of total cases respectively. Delhi UT reported highest crime rate of 23.7 followed by A & N Islands at 13.5 as compared to national average at 5.7.”
Madhya Pradesh with 4,882 rape cases also topped the chart in 2016.
